1/3– ‘Rest Day’ walking in Disney
1/4- 10 mile long run
Total Miles: 14

It’s taper week before Disney Marathon weekend! I’ll be running the 10k AND the half marathon! What better way to prep than keep WORKOUTS consistent AND visit the place where the 10k where take place?!

Friday I spent the day at Epcot with a friend and her little one – and it was a CHILLY day! Yes, northern peeps I know I’m a big baby and 45 isn’t THAT cold. Hey, we’re Floridians! haha, this is NOT the norm for us – I would hope that this weather would stick for Marathon weekend for everyone running but can’t make any promises 😉
I was tinkering with running 8-10 miles on Saturday as the last long run before the 10k and half. I met up at Fit Niche Hyde Park for a Run Tampa group at 7am for a group run into Davis Island – yay another run by the water!
The brisk weather was SO helpful for pace it’s not even funny! I was super happy with not only our time running and catching up, but the pace, AND my cadence! Having a sinus infection didn’t help [I get them all of the time because of my allergies/asthma] but I kept focus on breathing and moving and WHOA LA! The run was done and I was able to move on with the day!
How have you gotten moving the week including New Year’s Eve?
Northerners – how are you coping with this crazy BLIZZARDNESS??

What I would give for 45-degree weather now! 😉 We have some snow now, but fingers crossed it’s starting to melt. I went running this morning, and it seemed like I was playing a game of never-ending Frogger and trying to find clear paths.

I wish it would be 45 degrees next Sunday for the marathon, but alas that is not in the forecast. However, we will enjoy all those runs (that is my mantra anyway) and have a big haul of bling to show for it! See you soon.

I haven’t been up to my usual workout shenanigans but Boston training started this week and my 70.3 training starts tomorrow so that will ALL change. As for the cold and snow, I am seriously FED UP already and it’s only the beginning of January. I think we need to re-locate somewhere warm!!!

Great job Kat! Really hope I get to see you this weekend in Disney! So wish the weather was going to be a tad bit cooler but oh well. We will be running in the happiest place of earth! 😉

Your taper week looks pretty hard core, not as much running, but still lots of workouts. You are awesome.

Good luck in your 10K and half marathon. I have never run any of the Disney races but think it would be fun to do one sometime. I live in Northern New Hampshire and this weather has been totally brutal. I usually try to get out for at least a little bit if it is zero or above with lots of layers. If it is below zero I head indoors to the treadmill. Getting out for a run in the snow can be so beautiful!

Killer week lady, and I hardly count walking disney as a rest day!

Hope you have a great time with the races, go get it!!

NY has been so nuts lately. The snow, the cold, I mean we expect it but doesnt make it more tolerable! I’ve been keeping all my runs and workouts inside mainly for safety matter. I am all for bundling up for a run but when safety is in question…Ill take the treadmill!
