You know I’ll do separate recaps on the races this week along with all of the fun meetup action!
On Instagram & Twitter & Facebook I’ve uploaded a ton of pics from this weekend I spent over at Disney! I had a BLAST with lots of friends and got a chance to meet a few new peeps as well! I was able to complete MY version of the [East Coast] Dumbo Double Dare running the Disney World 10k Friday and then the Half Marathon Saturday! I felt GREAT during and after both races and was introduced to the world of run/walk intervals!
Beforehand, I took it easy and made sure to not run a ton that week. Shakeout runs and training runs the week before a race are usually scheduled but I ended up teaching 3 classes this week and didn’t want to push it!
I had some newbies show up for Insanity this week which is always a PLEASANT surprise and ended up teaching my first Basic Training class Monday. Basic Training is usually a strength class, circuits for efficiency are good, focusing on lighter weight and more high calorie burn. I had a whole class of guys, which I admit did make me nervous at first since I haven’t taught just guys yet, but it ended up being super fun! They were drenched in sweat after 45 minutes so I knew I did my job 😉
I’m virtually cheering on ALL Disney runners running the FULL Marathon today – especially those doing the GOOFY challenge and the ever-elusive DOPEY challenge where they ran ALL 4 Disney races from this weekend! – the 5k, 10k, Half marathon, and full marathon today.
